Show Notes by Victoria Lynn Hall

“America cannot have the future we would wish for ourselves, and for our children, unless we’re willing to clean up issues left over from the past.”

Marianne Williamson

Jesse and I actually recorded a new episode of Ask Jesse for you this past week but due to some technical difficulties we are unable to share that with you. I blame Mercury Retrograde. But I also blame myself because this wasn’t the first time we experienced this issue but it took it becoming far more worse for it to get my attention and motivate me to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it once and for all.

Whether you believe in astrology or think it is a bunch of woo woo nonsense, the astronomical event of Mercury Retrograde is an apt metaphor for how we deal with difficulties in life.

Just as Mercury appears to travel backwards during its retrograde phase, we stubborn beings on earth often have to go back to the same problems again and again before we figure out what is causing them and finally begin to repair them for good; rather than brush them off, sweep them under the rug or patch them up temporarily. Often, what seems like a new problem is just a new manifestation of an old problem but we don’t know this if we don’t take the time to stop and revisit and reflect upon our past. Of course this applies politically as well as personally, though our current leaders seem to lack an ability or willingness for self reflection.

At any rate, I find it appropriate that before we can move forward with a new episode of Ask Jesse, we find ourselves revisiting our last fifteen episodes. For me that means I get a chance to review what is and isn’t working technically and creatively as well as review what I’ve learned from Jesse about our politics.

I hope revisiting these episodes will be of value to you as well. And if you have any suggestions for how we can improve or have a topic or question you would like us to address in future episodes, feel free to contact us at

Even if you think Mercury Retrograde is a bunch of malarkey, periodically engaging in these “pleasures” written and shared by Amanda Yates Garcia is never a bad idea:
